Aug 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka Freedom Party People’s Wing (SLFP-PW) led by ousted Minister Mangala Samaraweera is planning to hold another discussion with Marxist People’s Liberation Front (JVP) soon aiming to invite the JVP to the National Council.

A series of similar discussions are to follow with leftist parties and parties representing ethnic minorities, SLFP-PW sources said.

The United National Party (UNP) and the SLFP-PW jointly formed the National Council with the aim of toppling the government. It held four massive public rallies and demonstrations in Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala and Nittambuwa.
