Aug 19, Colombo: Sri Lanka said that Ukrainian government has not ordered a probe into the alleged deal for procurement of four Mig - 27 fighter jets by the Sri Lankan Air Force.

Director General of the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) Lakshman Hulugalle told media that “the Ukrainian government has not acknowledged about such an inquiry, as the deal was done legally.”

He told this with reference to media reports that deal was done through a third party, an unknown company named Bellimissa Holdings Ltd operating from London.

Hulugalle also said that the government also started inquiries on websites and persons who provide false information to foreign websites regarding Sri Lanka's national security.
