Aug 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa today opened a new cancer treatment center in the Karapitiya Hospital in Galle.

The government expects to minimize the rush in Maharagama cancer hospital through the new unit that was built at a cost of Rs. one billion.

President inspected the new CT scanner the hospital received. Minister of Health Nimal Siripala de Silva was also present. President admitted the first patient to the ward, a school boy, from Thanamalvila.
