* Sri Lanka archaeologists find tombs believed to be 2,000 years old

Aug 01, Colombo: The Archaeological Post Graduate Institute of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka have unearthed an ancient cemetery that is believed to be 2,000 years old.

The tombs were found during archaeological excavations of a site in Embilipitiya in Southern Sri Lanka.

However, the archaeologists are yet to obtain the carbon dating reports of the findings to ascertain the exact period of the tombs.

The archaeologists have found eight tombs from the site situated in Ranchamadama school premises.
