Apr 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka announced that it has secured duty-free access to the European Union market for 7,200 products under the EU’s GSP-plus scheme.
Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Pakistan Dr Wijeratne Bandara Dorakumbure has said that this provides an ideal opportunity for Pakistani manufacturers who can do 25 per cent value-addition in the export products of Sri Lanka.
This was revealed when the Sri Lankan diplomat held talks with President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shahid Hassan Sheikh and other office-bearers on Tuesday in Pakistan.
Dr Wijeratne said Sri Lanka had the most liberalized investment regime in the Southeast Asian region and incentives and investment opportunities had no parallel.
