Apr 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister for Railways, Edward Gunasekara, an opposition MP of the United National Party (UNP) who recently crossed to the government and accepted a portfolio returned to the Opposition today at the parliament.
The parliamentarian for Gampaha District who sat with the Opposition in the parliament has also filed his resignation from the deputy ministerial portfolio he was holding.
Edward Gunasekara was among the 18 UNP MPs who joined the government recently with the former Deputy leader of UNP, Karu Jayasuriya.
