Apr 21, Colombo: Royal Ceramic, a premier tile maker in Sri Lanka is to start sanitaryware in August this year, becoming the only local manufacturer to supply construction market.
“Trial production is scheduled to start in August with an initial capacity of 250,000 pieces of sanitaryware. The plant will employ about 180 people,” Tharana Thoradeniya, CEO of Rocell Bathware had told media.
RCL’s new subsidiary named Rocell Bathware Ltd. will build a plant at the Panagoda industrial park with an investment of 1.4 billion rupees.
Royal Ceramics has a 40 percent share of the domestic market for tiles and operates an island wide network of 35 showrooms to sell sanitaryware.
