Nov 03, Colombo: Sri Lanka government is to commence the construction of Moragahakanna and Kaluganga Reservoir Project in early 2008.

Moragahakanna and Kaluganga reservoirs are the last phase of Mahaweli Development Scheme.

Under current rates, the project cost is estimated at 38.5 billion rupees. Initial arrangements for the implementation of the project are now in progress.
