* Sri Lanka's private bus crews to be enrolled in EPF
Thursday, December 21, 2006, 13:53 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Dec 21, Colombo: Sri Lanka Private Omnibus Owners Association has decided to grant the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) membership to the bus drivers and conductors.

In the first stage 10,000 bus workers will be enrolled for the EPF. This is a long-drawn demand of the private bus workers who don’t have their own trade unions. Private bus workers are always administered by the bus owners' associations.

Sri Lanka has an 18,000 strong private bus fleet and around 40,000 work in them as drivers and conductors. City Bank Card, Chase low rate loan, American Express
