  Sri Lanka exports reach over $ 1 billion for the second consecutive month

Apr 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka's earnings from merchandise exports In January 2019, surpassed US$ 1 billion for the second consecutive month, according to the External Sector Performance report released by the Central Bank Wednesday.

The Bank said considering the historical pattern of relatively low level of exports being recorded during the month of January, reaching over US dollars 1 billion of export earnings in January 2019 is noteworthy. Export earnings increased by 7.5 percent (year-on-year) to US$ 1.038 billion in January 2019, driven by increased exports from all major sectors.

 PNB recovers over 3 kg of heroin in a garage near Southern expressway entrance:
