  Sri Lanka pledges to ‘build back better’ from the current crisis

Sept 25, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry, said Sri Lanka pledges to exploit the crisis that is at hand, build back better, leaving no one behind and rise to new horizons of freedom and progress.

Delivering the country statement at the General Debate of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Saturday, Minister Sabry called for the international community’s cooperation and support as the island nation embarks on political, social and economic reforms.

 Police battle with robbers to recover hijacked petrol bowser:
Sept 25, Colombo: After a great effort, Kandy police arrested two robbers who tried to hijack a fuel bowser early this morning after blocking the road and attacking the driver and his assistant and recovered the bowser.

 Paddy Marketing Board buys over 570 MT of paddy crop from Vavuniya farmers:
